If you are looking for additional information on green commercial
properties and are in the Ottawa area, plan on attending the Better
Buildings Breakfast on April 14th. Hosted by RENX and Cushman &
Wakefield, this session is titled “What Every Tenant Needs to Know
about Green Buildings” and focuses on many facets of green leases.
The Better Buildings Breakfast series will be held on the fourth
Thursday of every month starting in the fall of 2011, and you can

Government News
Ontario’s recently released provincial budget did not
have show any major changes in the government’s support for the
environment, and green issues seem to have lost favour in relation
to economic concerns. The recently tabled federal government did
provide additional funding for environmental programs ($400 million
for the continuance of the ecoEnergy program, for instance) but was,
of course, defeated by the opposition. For more information on how
the political parties plan to support environmental causes, be sure
to visit their respective websites to read their election platforms.
MP’s are also a great source of information on these topics and can
be contacted directly if you have a specific question about their

takes place April 15-17th at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition
